Project and exhibition records

Series comprises Suzy Lake’s documentation of her career as an artist, organized according to exhibition or project. Typical file contents include press clippings, copies of exhibition invitations and catalogues, and photographic documentation. Series also includes performance notes and scripts for the works “Missed Liberty”, “Dance to Life”, “The 1812 Overture – An Ongoing Saga; Or, The Corn Also Rises” and “The Shirley Show / After Oka what?”.

Series comprises some of Arthur Lismer’s collection of materials on teaching art to children; memorabilia from his membership in the Arts and Letters Club in Toronto including some pen sketches; offprints of articles by his friend Marius Barbeau; a published book in which Lismer drew sketches; and a commonplace book once apparently belonging to Canadian artist Charles MacDonald Manly.

Series comprises of research material compiled by Ron Graham in preparation for the biographical essay “Twenty-Four Sketches for a Portrait of Paterson Ewen.” The essay was published in the catalogue for the Art Gallery of Ontario exhibition Paterson Ewen: Earthly Weather/Heavenly Skies, ed. by Matthew Teitelbaum and co-published by the AGO and Douglas & McIntyre in 1996. Series consists of photographs and photocopies of photographs, interview transcripts, essays, newspaper articles, exhibition related files, and other miscellaneous research material.
