YMCA, UNECSO, and other materials

File consists of records relating to Winsom's work in education and with community organizations. Includes records relating to her work with the YMCA, the Jamaica National Commission for UNESCO, the West Indian Canadian Association, her campaign for School Board Trustee for the St. Lawrence Ward, the May Pen Day Care Centre, and the Kingston Black Women's Collective. Also includes a signed poster of author and activist Angela Davis, addressed to Winsom.

Women's Press

File contains five issues of the Women's Almanac (and one duplicate issue) and related printed material relating to the Women's Press. Winsom provided text and illustrations for multiple editions of the Women's Almac,

Women's Art Resource Centre

File consists of records relating to Winsom's exhibitions and other projects with the Women's Art Resource Centre (WARC). Includes newsletters, brochure for Crossing Borders Mapping Boundaries, a WARC/WCA International Conference, media releases and invitations, and other printed material. Records relate to Making Peace With Ourselves: Art Against War (2000), For My Mother: A Visual Prayer/Feast (2003), and other projects.

Winsom's 50th Birthday

File contains a binder that was made for Winsom's 50th Birthday, containing notes and letters from friends and family. Includes the letter that was send out inviting people to participate, invitations to a party that was held at A Space Gallery to celebrate Winsom's Birthday, and party guests' notes to Winsom. Winsom's headshot is attached to the cover of the binder.

Winsom Foundation

File consists of records relating to the Winsom Foundation, a Belize-based non-profit organization established by Winsom in 2007.includes printed material such as a brochure, flyers, and event posters, an Art Journal by the Art Students of Cristo Rey R.C. School (a project that was supported by the Winsom Foundation), as well as correspondence, a certificate, and a form relating to a tour of the National Institute of Culture and History (NICH). Also includes a copy of the publication This is How We Keep Breathing: Voices from Belize & Beyond..., which is an anthology of poetry and short stories resulting from a collaboration between OCAD U and the Winsom Foundation. Winsom also contributed writings and illustrations to the publication.

Weapons of Culture guestbook

File consists of photocopies of pages from a guestbook with visitors' notes and signatures for the exhibition Weapons of Culture (1988), held at the A Space Gallery in Toronto.

Toronto Star 1988

File consists of clippings and photocopies of a 1988 Toronto Star article written by Christopher Hume titled "Black artists enter the Toronto mainstream," which includes references to Winsom's involvement in the Weapons of Culture exhibition at A Space Gallery.

This Land is Full of Hope

File consists of textual records and ten original sketches by Winsom relating to an illustration project for the 1999 edition of Every Woman's Almanac, published by Women's Press. Winsom provided illustrations for the months February, October and November.

This Is Not A Poem, Head Above the Water, and Painting Up A Storm

File consists of print material relating to three artistic projects, This is Not a Poem: This is A Summer Quilt (1994), Head Above the Water (various), and Painting up a Storm (1998). Includes promotional material such as flyers, programs and invitations as well as a page of correspondence relating to Head Above Waters - Four Aspects, and an issue of Ontario Craft magazine (May/June 1996) featuring an article on page 20 regarding "This is not a Poem, This is a summer quilt."

Theatre and Dance projects

File consists of records relating to Winsom's work and collaborations with various theatre and dance projects, including with Nightwood Theatre and Harbourfront Centre. Winsom exhibited work in conjunction with certain theatre and dance projects and is credited as a designer for a number of projects. Includes promotional material such as flyers and programmes, as well as other printed and published material including an issue of Canadian Theatre Review (Summer 1995) titled "Black Theatre in Canada" and conference material for the 1995 conference "Breaking Ground," a Theatre Ontario Project.
