Series contains published and unpublished material relating to Panton’s personal and professional life, including correspondence, clippings, lectures, notes, reproductions and photocopies. Correspondence relating to his tenure as President of the Ontario Society of Artists is included, during the controversy involving the secession of the Group of Seven and other matters. Among the papers was a list with file designations (see file 1). The first series follows this arrangement.

Fonds consists of correspondence, newspaper and magazine clippings, lecture notes, newsletters, cards and party invitations, exhibition catalogues, reproductions of art works, passport, certificates, and photographs relating to L.A.C. Panton’s personal and professional life. The photographs range from portraits of his family in England to scenes that provided the basis of paintings, particularly the Nova Scotia coastline. Correspondence relates to his involvement in art societies and his community in North Toronto but does not include his family life. Letters were received from several members of the Group of Seven, Florence Wyle, Arthur Heming, Fred Brigden, G.A. Reid and many others. Clipping files relate both to his professional life and his interest in economics and current events. The fonds arrived at the archives in no discernible order; order has been imposed by the archivist to correspond as much as possible to a file listing found in the fonds. Series consists of comprised of correspondence with individuals and institutions documenting the Zacks arts-related philanthropic activities in Israel. Enclosures such as minutes of meetings are often included. The files have been grouped together by institution, with single files at the end.

Series consists of printed material and correspondence relating to the Zacks’ membership on various boards. Included are agendas, minutes of meetings, reports and other enclosures sent to members, documents received from architects, accountants and other professionals, newsletters and annual reports. The series has been grouped by institution and is arranged chronologically within each group.

Series consists of correspondence with institutions, notes of thanks for personal tours, documentation relating to the loan of works including customs, shipping and insurance forms, texts of catalogue essays, lists of invitees to openings, corrected catalogue proofs, press clippings and telegrams.

Series consists of correspondence, invoices from shippers and photographers, customs and shipping forms, insurance policies with accompanying lists of art works, and index cards containing descriptions of works in the collection. Also included is a card catalogue of reference books. Index cards were originally housed in metal boxes. Files have been grouped by subject.

Series consists of photographs including slides and negatives, of past, present and potential works of art in the Zacks’ collection. They were stored in labeled envelopes containing numbers that corresponded to insurance lists. Archival envelopes have replaced the originals, with photocopies of the original inserted. The original numbering systems have been maintained and the files kept in the arrangement as they were found.

Series consists of exhibition catalogues from private and public art galleries, art periodicals, clippings from magazines and newspapers, and assorted printed material generated by art galleries, including posters and invitations. Arrangement is alphabetical by artist, beginning with a file of group show catalogues. An unknown number of catalogues was donated to the Fine Art Department, University of Toronto, in 1974 (see correspondence in Box 17.1).||

This file documents of the involvement of Mrs. Zacks in the Moore Sculpture Centre, including correspondence with the artist and policy drafts; other matters in the file include correspondence regarding insurance, loans, invitations.

Notes relating to tours of the collection, both at the AGO and in Mrs. Zacks' home, to groups from all parts of North America.
