Fonds consists of records documenting the activities and operations of the Women’s Cultural Building. Records capture major initiatives such as the Festival of Women Building Culture, as well as the collective’s efforts to foster feminist cultural discourse and support women artists through a variety of programs and events held throughout Toronto. Materials include correspondence, meeting minutes, reports, financial records, grant applications, promotional materials, flyers, posters, brochures, press releases, publications, newspaper clippings, photographs, and exhibition records.

Fonds consists of records documenting the activities and operations of the Women’s Art Resource Centre (WARC) in their mandate to support, promote, and advocate for women artists in Canada. These records capture the Centre’s administration, governance, exhibition programming, educational initiatives, conferences, workshops, publications, advocacy projects, fundraising activities, and community outreach. Materials include meeting minutes, correspondence, publications, flyers, publicity materials, press releases, posters, brochures, newspaper clippings, research and reference files, grant applications, exhibition proposals, photographs, audiovisual records, records relating to the planning and printing of Matriart magazine and other WARC publications, and records relating to WARC’s website and digital initiatives, including “World Wide WARC.” Fonds also includes WARC’s slide registry, a substantial visual resource comprising photographic slides and documentation of numerous women artists, artworks, and exhibitions.

Collection consists of posters designed by Will Munro for events organized by him at various venues in downtown Toronto. Posters employ a variety of media and processes, including silkscreen and photocopies. Some of these posters were featured in Will Munro: Total Eclipse, July 31-September 26, 2010, part of the Toronto Now series of exhibitions at the AGO. Silk-screening of many of the posters was carried out by Michael Comeau.

Collection consists chiefly of illustrative works by Canadian graphic artist Thoreau MacDonald, including a portfolio of drawings for an unpublished illustrated edition of Henry David Thoreau’s study Walden and a volume of layouts for the novel Maria Chapdelaine by French author Louis Hémon. Collection also includes some correspondence.

Fonds consists of Suzy Lake’s documentation of her artistic projects and exhibitions, records of her teaching activity at the University of Guelph, trial proofs used in the production of photo murals, and an example of early experimental work by the artist. Fonds also includes Lake’s grandfather’s sketchbook from his studies at the Detroit Institute of Arts.

Accrual to fonds consists of Suzy Lake’s documentation of her artistic projects and exhibitions, as well as some documentation relating to her academic career as a professor at the University of Guelph. Includes textual records such as correspondence, project contracts, press clippings, and Lake’s project notes. Also contains records relating to the production of significant publications of Lake’s work, including Introducing Suzy Lake (2014) and Suzy Lake: Scotiabank Photography Award (2017).

Accrual also includes eight video recordings on a variety of media, documenting Lake’s projects and talks between the 1980s and 2012.

Fonds consists of the records of the life and work of Sorel Etrog, including his personal, professional and literary correspondence; records of exhibitions and of acquisitions of his work by various galleries and collectors; administrative records related to various projects and collaborations by the artist; preparatory and experimental works on paper (“study drawings”); a selection of preparatory maquettes for sculptures; publicity materials including exhibition invitations and press clippings; and comprehensive documentation (photographs and lists) of the artist’s finished work. Three paintings by art collector and patron Samuel Zacks are also included.

Fonds consists of Robert Fones’ correspondence, journals, sketchbooks, art production materials and files for artworks and public art commissions, unpublished handmade artists books, a set of rubber stamps used for correspondence art, and ephemera related to Coach House Press, a publisher Fones had a longstanding relationship with. Fonds also includes Fones’ research and business files as well as files related to his design, curatorial and writing projects.

Collection consists of records accumulated by Ric Amis between 1982 and 1994 from organizations with which he was affiliated in Toronto, including Citizens for the Arts, Beaver Hall Artists’ Housing Co-operative, Lakeshore Village Artists’ Housing Co-operative, Toronto Artscape, Toronto Independent Media Enterprises/Cultural Arts Centre (Toronto) Incorporated, Canadian Artists Network: Black Artists in Action, and the Live/Work Space Building Code Working Group.
Collection comprises records of meetings of boards and committees; business and legal correspondence; provincial, municipal and other reports and policy documents; administrative records of organizations; research materials on artists’ co-operative housing; feasibility studies for projects; architectural drawings, and related material.

Fonds consists of administrative records of the Pollock Gallery in Toronto during the period 1967–1982; gallery correspondence; files on gallery artists and others; photographs of sculptors Frances Loring and Florence Wyle; records of gallery owner Jack Pollock; and material related to gallery artist Norval Morrisseau and to a book about him co-written by Jack Pollock.
