Pop bottle collection

Series consists of Greg Curnoe’s collection of regional pop bottles, representing brands Wishing Well, Sport, Snow White, Brunswick, Pepsi-Cola, Pure Spring, Moran, Calgary, Browns, Wilson’s, Twisty Cola, Taylor’s, Pachal’s, and Christin. Most bottles are full and sealed but several are empty. Bottles are contained in original cardboard carry trays and displayed on a wire rack. These bottles represent a selection by the artist from his larger collection of approximately 200 pop bottles that was kept in his studio; see box 52 and folder 2-10 for Curnoe’s inventories of this larger group.

Series consists of items of ephemera and found objects collected by Greg Curnoe for inspirational purposes or for use in his artwork. Series includes two scrapbooks of press clippings, one related to boxing and the other a compilation of “Smokey Stover” comic strips.

1990s Projects, materials related to "Railway Tracks," and catalogue print-outs

File consists of approximately 95 loose pages of textual records and graphic material, and 1 stapled catalogue booklet. Materials mainly concern Favro’s works and projects from the 1990s. Also includes colour and B&W print-outs of Favro's works, mainly installation pieces, possibly photocopied from a published catalogue. Also included are notes, sketches, and installation instructions pertaining to "Railway Tracks (1995-1996)," a printed email from Don Wherry to A. Pratten about the lineup for the 1996 Sound Symposium, a draft from 1971 of Favro's writings on "Mechanology," a copy of a published Spanish-language catalogue titled "Casa de las Americas" from 1988, a photocopy of a French-language biographical sketch from 1973, a photocopy of a magazine article about Favro in English and French from 1995, printed information on the Forest City Gallery, including its mission statement, and a colour printout of "Snow on Steps (1994)."

Hand-drawn circuitry diagrams, correspondence, and other materials

File consists of approximately 30 pages of textual records. Included are 13 pages of hand-drawn circuitry diagrams and notes for a "Digital Identification Unit (DIU)." There are also approximately 14 pages of handwritten notes covering a variety of Favro's thoughts and ideas, including those about technical progression, knowledge and intelligence, patents, and more. There is also a legend of symbols concerning "Wing sections and characteristics." Lastly, also included is a letter from Alvin Balkind, AGO Curator of Contemporary Art, to Favro, dated 8 August 1973 regarding a possible acquisition, a handwritten draft of Favro’s reply, and 1 page of questions for a patent attorney.

File consists of approximately 18 pages of correspondence relating to Nihilist Spasm Band’s Japanese tour in 1996. There are 3 pages of correspondence from Alchemy Records from 1995, and 7 pages of duplicates. There are also two pages of correspondence from Forest City Gallery regarding the 1996 Japan tour, and 4 pages of duplicates.
