Fonds consists of Art Institute of Ontario records accumulated by Paul Bennett, in the course of his duties as Field Director / Adviser and later Director of the Art Institute of Ontario. Fonds includes Adviser’s service reports, minutes of annual meetings, director’s reports, funding briefs, and two scrapbooks documenting the activities of the AIO. Fonds consists of records relating to the life and work of Florence Vale. Textual materials include correspondence, records of exhibitions, and documentation of her artwork. Visual materials include photographic documentation of the artist, her family, friends, and her work; drawings, etchings, rugs, and box construction art pieces and dolls. Also includes are media materials in the form of audio reels and a videocassette.

Fonds consists of Suzy Lake’s documentation of her artistic projects and exhibitions, records of her teaching activity at the University of Guelph, trial proofs used in the production of photo murals, and an example of early experimental work by the artist. Fonds also includes Lake’s grandfather’s sketchbook from his studies at the Detroit Institute of Arts.

Fonds consists of the records of the life and work of Sorel Etrog, including his personal, professional and literary correspondence; records of exhibitions and of acquisitions of his work by various galleries and collectors; administrative records related to various projects and collaborations by the artist; preparatory and experimental works on paper (“study drawings”); a selection of preparatory maquettes for sculptures; publicity materials including exhibition invitations and press clippings; and comprehensive documentation (photographs and lists) of the artist’s finished work. Three paintings by art collector and patron Samuel Zacks are also included.

Fonds consists of material produced by Pleasure Dome in Toronto for its programs of film and video exhibitions between 1989 and 2016, including press releases, clippings of notices and reviews, programming records with correspondence, and related material.

Fonds consists of the contents of an autograph album, primarily consisting of letters received by Goldwin Smith from various correspondents throughout North America and Europe. The fonds also includes a few intact pages of the album with autographs.

Fonds consists of scrapbooks assembled by Canadian artist and author Edmund Morris (1871-1913) of autograph manuscripts of Wyatt Eaton, chiefly on art (especially Italian Renaissance art), and literature. Also included are correspondence of Edmund Morris, Charlotte Eaton and others regarding Wyatt Eaton, and material related to the Society of American Artists.

Fonds consists chiefly of correspondence to Edmund Morris as an artist and as secretary of the Canadian Art Club, Toronto (extant 1907-1915). Materials relating to the art club were received predominantly between 1906 and 1913 and deal with the membership of the club, with artworks and with art publications. Correspondents include artists Peleg Franklin Brownell, Edmond Dyonnet, Clarence Gagnon, James Kerr-Lawson, Ernest Lawson, James Wilson Morrice, Alexander Phimister Proctor, Marc-Aurèle de Foy Suzor-Côté, Horatio Walker, Homer Ransford Watson and poet Duncan Campbell Scott. Also included are letters written by Edmund Morris himself and a few received by other members of the art club. The approximately 800 items were originally in two letter-binders. Although most of the items are letters, the fonds also comprises exhibition notices, invitations, newspaper and journal articles, lists of artists and artworks, price lists, illustrations, prospectuses, lists of subscribers for memorials (etc.), invoices, as well as miscellaneous items such as visiting cards, envelopes, an abstract of land title, a telegram and a cancelled cheque.

Fonds consists of the records of the Canadian Art Club, including minutes of the organization’s meetings, constitution and by-laws, membership lists, photographs of artworks, documents of incorporation (1909) and ultimate dissolution (1930s) and club financial records in the form of ledgers and a collection of bills and receipts. Materials related to club exhibitions and dinners are supplemented by an extensive collection of clippings from reviews in newspapers of the day. Correspondence forms a significant portion of the papers, especially that to and from Edmund Morris, secretary of the club for several years. Fonds consists of two scrapbooks containing material created and collected throughout George Reid’s life and were compiled by him in the late 1930’s. Volume I, 500 pages, contains photographs and notes on the Reid family; drawings, sketches, etc., as well as press clippings and exhibition catalogues relating to works of art by Reid and his first wife, Mary Hiester Reid. The 131 pages of Volume II are devoted to designs for buildings and their interior fittings, including summer homes and a church at Onteora, New York, houses in Wychwood Park (Toronto) including the Reid house, and Ontario College of Art designs. Materials include drawings in pencil, pastel and ink, watercolour sketches, small oil paintings, blueprints, photographs, postcards, letters, texts of speeches, letters, awards and material clipped from magazines and newspapers.
