Scope and content
Festival Ontario was a program of Ontario’s Ministry of Culture and Recreation that was introduced in 1973 to make the resources of provincially funded cultural organizations available to community festivals throughout the province. Festival Ontario supported programming for arts and culture festivals in communities around Simcoe, Sudbury, and Sault Ste. Marie.
Extension Services circulated existing exhibitions and Artists with their Work programs and also developed original programs and exhibitions to appeal to communities using the Festival Ontario program.
Series consists of records related to the organization of Extension Services programs at Festival Ontario events throughout the province. Includes correspondence, press releases, planning documents, budgets, shipping forms, promotional materials, and news clippings.
