Series consists of records relating to exhibitions that were proposed or considered, but not shown at the AGO. Rejected exhibition files may include exhibition proposals, funding applications, correspondence, research files, lists of works, and correspondence with curators, artists, and potential lenders.
Note that “Rejected Exhibitions” is a general internal label used for exhibitions that did not happen at the AGO for a variety of reasons. Exhibitions in this series were not necessarily rejected by AGO staff. For example, this series includes records related to planned exhibitions that were cancelled due to logistical difficulties.
