Scope and content
Series consists of records documenting Winsom’s career as a multi-media artist, including exhibitions, installations, and other artistic projects. Includes printed material such as invitations, posters, programmes, and newsletters, as well as other textual records such as visitor comments, reference material, and notes. Also includes some digital and audio-visual material, including video footage from the opening of an exhibition, a digital catalogue, and a short movie by Winsom.
Some of the exhibitions documented in this series include Black Wimmin: When and Where We Enter (1989), River of Life (2000), I Am The Alchemist (2007), and Winsom: I Rise (2018). Also includes records relating to Winsom’s exhibitions and involvement with the arts community outside of traditionally galleries, including with the Harrison Festival of the Arts, The Women’s Art Resource Centre (WARC), and some theatre and dance projects that Winsom supported as a designer or exhibiting artist.
