Fonds consists of drawings, watercolours and designs of A. H. Howard produced in Toronto between 1880 and 1914, especially in the sketchbooks in which Howard drew Ontario landscapes and towns, flowers, trees, human figures, factory interiors and other subjects. Similar drawings and watercolours are contained in two albums and a portfolio. Also included are examples of his decorative and calligraphic work from illuminated presentation addresses, certificates, bookplates and other materials.

Fonds consists of records of the artistic and academic career of Barbara Astman, chiefly in Toronto from the 1960s to the second decade of the 21st century, including photographs of her projects and exhibitions, correspondence and textual documentation of projects, personal and other photos and journals, and some audiovisual materials.

Fonds consists of documentation of the work and activities of members of the ChromaZone Collective; records of the group’s exhibition activity, including posters; and photographs of group members. Fonds also includes records related to the establishment and administration of the Tim Jocelyn Art Foundation, and records of Sibyl Goldstein’s art-related activity following the disbandment of ChromaZone.

Fonds consists of documentation of Colette Whiten’s artistic career, including records of exhibitions, commissions, grants, awards, and experiments with materials. Documentation of Whiten’s public art collaborations with Paul Kipps is included. Fonds also includes records of Whiten’s teaching activity at several different institutions, including the Ontario College of Art.

Fonds documents Elke Town’s activity in the visual arts in Toronto between the years 1974 and 1991. The files are related to various positions she held, beginning with A Space in 1974, and the curatorial work she carried out at the Art Gallery of Ontario, Gallery 76 at OCAD, Art Metropole and as an independent curator. There are also files related to her writing about visual art and video for numerous publications such as C Magazine, Vanguard, Parachute and Canadian Art.

Collection consists of illustrations clipped from fashion magazines, general-interest periodicals, children’s
picture books and other illustrated books, bringing together the work of over 275 illustrators published
between the 1860s and the 1920s, chiefly in the United States, Britain and Canada.
Fashion magazine covers in series 1 featuring imaginative and extravagant costumes are full colour
lithographs, as are most of the sheets in series 4 (Illustrations from publications for children). Illustrations
in series 2 (Book and magazine illustrations) are largely achromatic images depicting events in fictional
and poetic works, and include printed black-and-white wood engravings. Many folders contain a single
sheet of illustration by one artist, while series 3 (Gustave Doré illustrations) consists of more than two
hundred published wood engravings by prolific French artist Gustave Doré. The collection of over 3000
items offers a perspective on the era of illustration by graphic artists before it was largely superseded
(except in children’s literature) by photography.

Fonds consists of records relating to the life and work of Florence Vale. Textual materials include correspondence, records of exhibitions, and documentation of her artwork. Visual materials include photographic documentation of the artist, her family, friends, and her work; drawings, etchings, rugs, and box construction art pieces and dolls. Also includes are media materials in the form of audio reels and a videocassette.

Fonds consists of corporate records of Gallery Moos, including files on artists and associated dealers and galleries, art fair participation and travel, business correspondence, publishing and administrative records and the records of David Moos and gallery director Gerard Jennings. Fonds also contains the gallery’s published material, including exhibition invitations and catalogues, posters, and limited edition publications. Two films on gallery artist Gershon Iskowitz are also included.
The accrual of 2004 consists of Series 8 and Series 9, listed below. In 2012 the accrual of material from Gallery Moos augmented Series 1–6, 8 and 9, and added Series 10–14.

Fonds consists of personal and professional records of Gershon Iskowitz, including photographic documentation of his family and early life, self and studio, and works of art; publicity material including newspaper clippings about his career; personal artefacts such as identity documents; a small amount of personal correspondence; and a condolence book signed at his memorial service.
