Scope and content

Series consists of records regarding Publication and Design projects relating to marketing and communications at the Gallery. This includes general promotional and informational material for the Gallery and its programming, such as brochures, flyers, and posters, as well records relating to marketing and communications campaigns for specific exhibitions and events, which are described at the file level. Some files contain design samples relating to a broad range of Gallery programs and events to be used as reference for future projects.

Also includes sketches and related records regarding a 1918 competition to design a seal for the Art Museum of Toronto. Numerous Canadian artists participated in the competition under pseudonyms, although no winner was selected due to the Gallery’s name change that occurred in 1919.
